An opportunity had arisen within HSQE department of VolkerRail for a Document Controller, reporting to the Performance & Standards Manager
The role will be responsible for the day to day management of the company's Document Control system across the VolkerRail Group of companies. Key Safety elements include issue of documentation to employee's as as a requirement for their role and / or competence, monitoring return of controlled document issues records within the timescales set and chasing out nil responses, initiatiating change to documents following notification of changes within the industry or client requirements and maintaining the ‘Standards' intranet site. This role is also responsible for co-ordinating the company's archiving procedure and maintenance of its associated records, which includes the archiving intranet site.
Although not essential, previous experience of working within a Document Control or a Quality Control environment in the railway industry would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be proficient in all Microsoft Packages and be able to work on their own initiative. Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint and Adobe Acrobat would be a distinct advantage.
Hardworking and professional, you will have experience of working in a busy office environment and of working to deadlines. Excellent organisational skills, a positive friendly telephone manner and good interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.
