Maintainer Operator (RRV)

VolkerRail Plant is looking to recruit 2 Maintainer Operators to operate and maintain our fleet of RRV & Beaver Tamper vehicles.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the:

• Maintenance and routine safety checks are undertaken and recorded.
• Day to day management of safety involved with the operating and servicing of RRV vehicles is carried out.
• All requirements of the work plan are implemented.
• All machine documentation, log books, worksheets, etc. are completed to the correct standard and provide, as required, the daily report of machine production and condition.

Your role will take you too many varied locations across the UK, working as part of a close team.

To be eligible to apply you must meet with the following criteria:

• Be either a trained apprentice in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or possess an NVQ level 3 (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent.
• Be able to read engineering drawings in regards to fault finding.
• Be flexible in your approach and willing to work nights, weekends and lodge away from home.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Possess excellent communication skills. 
• A responsible attitude and high level of safety awareness.

If your application is successful, you will also need to pass an assessment which will measure your concentration, ability to react quickly, ability to operate hand and foot controls, ability to stay calm under pressure, and your ability to understand mechanical principles.

Due to the ergonomics of driving cab design, height and weight restrictions may apply.
