VolkerRail were awarded the Gosberton resignalling project by Network Rail LNE in 2011. This project saw VolkerRail remove and replace the current signal box and level crossing gate box, along with associated renewals and upgrades of the line side signalling and level crossing equipment.
The traditional semaphore signals have been updated with new led new colour light signals along the 10 ¼ mile length of track and all the level crossing equipment has been renewed.
The existing signal and crossing gate boxes have been replaced by a new modular signal box and relay room.
The scheme also saw the introduction of a new containerised PSP, to replace existing life expired signalling supplies, which also provides capacity for future schemes.
Installation of UTXs, URXs, Track Circuits, Signal Structures TPWS , AWS, and new Signalling and Power Cables were also required
The project was successfully commission over two weekends in March 2012.
