VolkerRail is among the winners of the RoSPA Awards 2015, after receiving the RoSPA Gold award for occupational health and safety and the RoSPA MORR Gold award for the management of occupational road risk.
This is the fourth consecutive year VolkerRail has been awarded the RoSPA MORR Gold award, which rewards excellence and encourage improvements in managing occupational road risk.
Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQE director at VolkerRail said: “I am extremely pleased that VolkerRail has received these prestigious awards. I would like to thank our employees for their continued commitment and dedication, which has enabled us to receive this industry recognised achievement.”
David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as VolkerRail, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”
RoSPA is the UK's family safety charity. Their mission is to save lives and reduce injuries covering all ages and stages of life.
The RoSPA Awards date back nearly 60 years and recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants' overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The awards will be presented to VolkerRail on the 15th July 2015 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
