High voltage power distribution
We have the ability to complete specialist high voltage (HV) installations and electrification work packages from distribution network operator terminals to track side switch.
Our team of specialists project managers, site managers, Level A engineers and testing and commissioning engineers have extensive knowledge on all aspects of work, from design through to substation installation, jointing and testing. This includes:
- Distribution cabling and jointing up to 33kV and 1500V DC
- Cable installation
- Supervisory control and protection systems
- Civils works to support the distribution works
- Testing and commissioning
- SCADA
- Replacement and refurbishment of vacuum circuit breakers
We also have the ability to complete HV and traction power design, supply and installation, including:
- Comprehensive electrical track equipment works

- Low voltage building services installation and testing to BS7671

Low voltage power distribution
VolkerRail provides specialist railway low voltage installations for packages of work from distribution network operator terminals to end user.
All of our installation works are covered by our NICEIC Approved Contractor Accreditation.
Our scope of services include small project to large multi-million pound turn-key work packages, providing high quality solutions delivered by our experienced and professional engineering and construction teams.
From early project development through to final commissioning and hand back, we have the capability to deliver projects from GRIP stage 3 (surveys) through to GRIP 6 delivery and to operational GRIP 8 hand back stage. Surety of delivery is provided by our experienced team who have demonstrable experience in undertaking CRE & CEM duties. Construction management, site supervision and qualified installation teams collectively ensure all our installations meet the required standards
and client expectations.
