100 Years of Long Service at VolkerRail

In the last six months VolkerRail has awarded long service awards to ten staff members who have dedicated a decade of loyal service each to the company.

Staff  receivng long service awards

Ashley Bird, RMC delivery supervisor; Adrian Towel, maintainer operator; Colin Caldwell, logistics and resource manager; Pete Usher, HSQE advisor; Steve Shields, business manager -POM; Paul Milner, engineering manager; Peter Smith, delivery supervisor; Colin Orr, crew manager, and Steve Bramley, business manager have all received a gift from the company as a thank you for their hard work and dedication over the last 10 years.

Pete Usher commented on his 10 years at VolkerRail: "My 10 years at VolkerRail have proved to be both challenging and rewarding. Over the years the company have afforded me many opportunities for advancement and have invested in my career and professional development, leading to promotion and career paths previously unavailable."

Within those years all of the men have been promoted within the business receiving training within their roles to develop their careers. Many have gained recognised qualifications and others have played an instrumental part in implementing new products to the UK and new procedures throughout the company.

Barry Kennedy, commercial director commented: "I'm proud to have presented these awards as it demonstrates the depth of experience we have built within VolkerRail. This quality and experience positions us well to mentor the next generation of operatives and positions us in good stead for a successful future."
