VolkerRail has sponsored a pioneering research project to better understand how people perceive the efforts made by the rail industry to attract young people into the sector.
The survey is made up of ten questions, and is run by the Railway Technology Magazine, in partnership with the National College of High-Speed Rail. It looks to answer the question: ‘Are we doing enough as a sector to attract young people into the rail industry?’
Speaking about why the business has supported this research, VolkerRail’s managing director, Steve Cocliff, said: “As the industry continues to develop and investment reaches all-time highs, it’s important to ensure we are encouraging more young professionals into a career in rail. This survey will allow us to better understand how the industry is perceived, the thoughts of today’s students and the areas where we as an industry can improve.”
