VolkerWessels UK named ‘Large company of the year’ at the National Centre for Diversity’s #FREDIE awards 2022

Our parent company VolkerWessels UK is proud to announce that the business has been named ‘Large company of the year’ and 'Engineering company of the Year' at the National Centre for Diversity's FREDIE awards 2022, and were ranked 15 in the ‘Top 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces’.

The National Centre for Diversity is the UK's leading organisation promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, and its annual FREDIE awards champion and celebrate individuals and organisations who go above and beyond in their commitment to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.

Emma Ward, head of sustainability and inclusion at VolkerWessels UK, commented: “Winning these two FREDIE awards is a huge privilege and a testament to our efforts to raise awareness, broaden horizons and keep EDI conversations going across our business. It was great to see our collective endeavours recognised at this national event, which is made possible by our amazing group of EDI champions and our EDI steering group, and their ongoing commitment, passion, and enthusiasm for driving our EDI agenda forward. This is the third consecutive year that we’ve won ‘Engineering company of the year’ and with ’Large company of the year’ covering all sectors, it really does demonstrate our ongoing journey.”

The awards are based on both our Investors in Diversity survey and feedback, and our EDI strategy, as well as all of our activities over the past year. It was great to see all our efforts recognised at the event last week. We were also ranked number 15 in the list of the top 100 employers!”
