Gosberton

Network Rail contracted VolkerRail to remove and replace the current signal box and level crossing gate box, along with associated renewals and upgrades of the line side signalling and level crossing equipment, at Gosberton.

The traditional semaphore signals were updated with new LED colour light signals along the 10 ¼ mile length of track and all the level crossing equipment was renewed. The existing signal and crossing gate boxes were also replaced with a new modular signal box and relay room.

The scheme also saw the introduction of a new containerised PSP, to replace existing life expired signalling supplies, which also provides capacity for future schemes. Installation of UTXs, URXs, track circuits, signal structures TPWS, AWS, and new signalling and power cables were also required.
