The Doncaster Business Awards are the most prestigious awards in the region and the largest business awards in Yorkshire. The awards celebrate the very best of Doncaster's business community - recognising the high calibre of work being delivered by organisations across the borough and beyond.

Jane Byers-Woods, graduate environmental advisor, received the Rising Star award. This award acknowledges the efforts of young professionals, who show promise, a positive attitude and proven demonstrable benefits to their business.

VolkerRail was also named runner-up in the Excellence in Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility category, which recognises organisations who have a clear and demonstrable strategy and achievements in this area. The biggest award of the night was the Large Business of the Year award, in which VolkerRail was runner-up. This award recognises companies which demonstrate all-round excellence in business, including financial performance, future objectives, competitive advantage and a commitment to customer service.
