Continued success in effective health and safety management

For the second year running, VolkerRail has been awarded an International Safety Award with distinction by the British Safety Council in recognition of our commitment to keeping our workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2014 calendar year.

This award demonstrates the commitment made by VolkerRail to health and safety management.

Neal Stone, acting Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated VolkerRail on its success. “On behalf of the Trustees and staff of the British Safety Council we warmly congratulate VolkerRail and its employees on gaining an International Safety Award with distinction for 2015. All of those working at VolkerRail have made this award possible, which recognises their commitment to preventing injury and ill health in the workplace.

“The International Safety Awards rightly reflects the importance of aiming for good standards of health and safety at work. VolkerRail should rightly be proud of its achievement. Our congratulations.”

Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQE director at VolkerRail, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and we are delighted to have received this award for a second year. The enagement of all of our employees and sub-contractors has made this achievement possible and I would extend my thanks to every one of them.”

Now in their 57th year, the International Safety Awards seek to celebrate and promote the success of the winning organisations and their employees in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all. They are open to businesses, public and third sector bodies of all sizes and sectors. The 2015 award winners have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health.
