A Kirow crane installing track

Kirow rail mounted cranes

Since introducing the Kirow crane to the UK market over 20 years ago, we continue to be the market leader in rail crane operations for track, bridge and lineside infrastructure installations, and breakdown and recovery.

Our rail crane fleet is the biggest in the UK and includes two 125-tonne capacity Kirow 1200s - one VolkerRail owned and Network Rail’s Kirow crane, that is maintained and operated by our team. We also have a 100-tonne capacity Kirow 810 crane, and two flexible, lightweight Kirow 250s, which lift up to 25-tonne and are ideal for working on structures with a limited weight capacity.

Our cranes can be used individually or in tandem for more complex lift operations, to undertake track, bridge and lineside infrastructure installations, and breakdown and recovery. We are also well known for undertaking traditional track installation ranging from 60ft plain line panels up to 34m G-Switch panels and diamond crossings.

Using Kirow cranes reduces the need for multiple machines and people, making sites safer and installation and removal much more efficient, as they maximise the use of limited possession times. Our experienced crane specialists provide cost effective planning solutions to challenging lift requirements, and a flexible approach to width and height limitations of constrained infrastructure.
