A Matisa tamper tamping on the railway tracks

OTM Universal tamper

We own and operate 12 On -Track Machine (OTM) universal tampers, which work across the UK rail infrastructure – primarily in the London North East, East Midlands and Anglia regions as part of Network Rail’s National On-Track Tamping Contract. These machines can work on both plain line or S&C infrastructure.

Our experienced team of train drivers, maintenance and operations specialists deliver both plain line and S&C, renewals and maintenance tamping ensuring the track is safe for passenger and freight trains alike.

Our fleet of OTM tampers work independently or in parallel, depending on client or track layout requirements, and consists of:

  • Four Matisa B66 UC tamping machines
  • Three Matisa B45 UE tamping machines
  • Four Matisa B41 UE tamping machines
  • One Plasser and Theurer 08 4x4 / 4S tamping machine.
