Continued success at the International Safety Awards

Three VolkerWessels UK businesses are celebrating after receiving International Safety Awards from the British Safety Council.

Now in their 62nd year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations which have demonstrated their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year.

The awards also recognise organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.

This year, VolkerRail received its sixth consecutive International Safety Award with Distinction. VolkerHighways received its fourth International Safety Award with Merit, and VolkerFitzpatrick received a Pass, for its Stansted Airport and Essoldo House project, and a Merit for its CP6 Renewals team – Anglia.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: “The British Safety Council commends VolkerWessels UK on their achievement. These awards are in recognition of their commitment and their efforts to keep employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.”

Commenting on VolkerRail's achievements, Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQES director at VolkerRail, said: “Well done to everyone involved in these achievements. Putting our employee’s health first is of paramount importance, and these awards reflect our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our employees and stakeholders.”
