VolkerRail has entered into a new partnership with Doncaster Demons, becoming the official sponsor of the women’s rugby team at Castle Park for the 2019/20 season.
The Demons compete in the Rugby Football Union for Women (RFUW) League and have secured countless league wins over recent seasons, as well as having an active involvement in cups and tournaments across the UK, helping to define the team’s presence beyond the local area.
This new partnership is part of VolkerRail’s commitment to bolstering its support for local charities and sporting teams and will help the club raise the profile of women’s rugby in Doncaster, through providing coaching and training to interested players in the area.
Speaking about the venture, VolkerRail’s HSQES director, Stuart Webster-Spriggs, said: “We are delighted to begin our partnership with Doncaster Demons. This sponsorship is a great example of how large businesses can engage with organisation in local communities. We’re excited to watch the team play and progress.”
David Townend, President of the Doncaster Phoenix RUFC, said: "We‘re pleased to welcome VolkerRail as the new sponsor of our ladies’ team - the Demons and appreciate greatly the support that they have shown. We are especially pleased to be partnering with a local company, which will not only provide new kit for the players but also help to promote the game of rugby union to even more potential female players in the area."
