London Trams Track Replacement Framework extended

London Trams has extended its current Embedded Track Replacement Framework with VolkerRail for a future two years.

VolkerRail was awarded the extension following continued achievements throughout the Framework, originally awarded in 2022, which has resulted in over 861 metres of track and seven turnouts renewed across Croydon Tram.

London Trams is a 28km, 39 tram stop network, serving Croydon and the surrounding areas in south London, providing environmentally friendly, modern, public transport to customers.

The Framework extension is part of a continued partnership between VolkerRail and London Trams, which dates to 2012.

Commenting, Niall McCreanor, VolkerRail’s director of specialist businesses, said: “This extension is a brilliant showcase of our expertise in light rail and our skills in track renewals that helps providers such as London Tram replace worn out sections of track assets.”

“We look forward to continuing our long relationship with London Trams to ensure smoother and safer journeys for its customers.”
