Supporting the Salvation Army in bringing Christmas to those less fortunate

Offices across VolkerWessels UK have taken part in the Salvation Army's Christmas present appeal, to help give those less fortunate in Doncaster, Scunthorpe, York, Worcester and Ware a happier Christmas.

Each year the Salvation Army works with children's centres and family support services, across the UK, receiving the names and ages of each child who would benefit from a gift. The gifts donated in this appeal are then matched to those children and distributed, just in time for Christmas day.

VolkerWessels UK staff and suppliers, together donated over 500 new toys and gifts to this fabulous appeal.

Tina Cator, corporate communications executive at VolkerWessels UK, and leader of this initiative said: "I'm humbled by how generous people have been. It was great to see so many offices take part as well as suppliers, who wanted to contribute. I thank everyone who took part."

Andrew Dunkinson, corps officer with the York Salvation Army office, said: “Every year, we are amazed at the thoughtfulness of local businesses and members of the public. This kindness always ensures we meet every referral we receive. We are really grateful for your generous support in helping to make Christmas so special for so many children and families.”
