VolkerRail receive prestigious RoSPA President’s Award
Having been presented with its tenth Gold Medal Fleet Safety Award, VolkerRail is delighted to receive the prestigious RoSPA President’s Award for outstanding occupational road risk management, as well as its eighth consecutive Gold Medal Award, in recognition of its health and safety performance.
Run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, RoSPA is the longest running industry awards scheme in the UK, recognising achievements in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
These awards acknowledge VolkerRail’s performance throughout 2020.
Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQES director, said: “The continuing recognition of VolkerRail’s commitment to fleet and occupational health and safety is a testament to our employees and to our supply chain, who – together - are committed to getting everyone home safe every day. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your dedication, support and engagement.”
The East West Rail Alliance, of which VolkerRail is an Alliance partner, also received their second consecutive RoSPA Gold award.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants. With these awards, we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace.
“Employees, wherever they may be, should be able to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. Our RoSPA Award winners are central to achieving this goal.”
